Katie Hynes, MA, LCSW
Katie is a licensed clinical social worker with seven years of experience in working with adolescents. She strives to create a safe space to help adolescents build skills to feel confident in navigating life’s challenges. By coming alongside clients with a warm, empathetic and strengths-based approach, she is able to meet clients right where they are at in their life. Katie is passionate about incorporating Christian values in order to help clients heal from past trauma and continue spiritual development.
Katie graduated with her Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with honors, and was an award recipient for excellence in field instruction. By day, she is a school social worker and coaches both students and parents through the education system. She has extensive experience with adolescents who are dealing with a variety of life situations and struggles. In addition, she has experience working with those who require residential psychiatric programs. She uses talk therapy, skill building strategies, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness in her therapy. Areas of specialty include Autism, Anxiety, Depression and relationship issues. Katie has a variety of experiences in working with adolescents with special needs. She is especially passionate about social skill building and teaching emotional regulation skills to adolescents with Autism.
